Who is eligible for this seminar?

  • Any New or Returning USA Hockey Officials. You must have completed registration to be a USA Hockey official for 2016-2017 and preregistered on the USA Hockey Seminar Registration site.  That means you must have paid your registration dues to USA Hockey and bring your receipt to the seminar.     
  • Returning experienced officials who have not been registered in the last 4 years.
  • The minimum age for officiating in Texas is 14.

What do I need to do to prepare for the seminar?

After August 1, 2016, go online pay your USA Hockey registration fees and register for the seminar at USA Hockey Registration

You must have completed registration to be a USA Hockey official for 2016-2017 and preregistered on the USA Hockey Seminar Registration site.  That means you must have paid your registration dues to USA Hockey and bring your receipt to the seminar. You must be pre-registered for this seminar.  Walkups will not be admitted.

What does it take to pass the Seminar?

Level 2 and 3 must pass a closed book test.  Level 1 does not require a closed book test.

What equipment will I need for the On-Ice Session?

You must have Skates, Helmet, and finger whistle.  Shin pads and elbow pads are recommended.  If you are a returning official wear your officiating stuff.  If you are new, wear a warmup suit or similar attire.  Shorts are not permitted.
